Terms and Conditions

1. Paying for Lessons

1.1 You must pay for tuition prior to the start of your lesson. You can pay with cash in the car or via bank transfer. Please arrange a bank transfer to meet the timescale for the package you require. Please visit the Prices page for bank details.

1.2  When requested, a receipt will be provided as proof of payment.

1.3  The per lesson price is subject to change at any time.

1.4  You cannot sell or transfer your purchased driving lessons to any other person.


2. Lesson Packages

2.1  Lesson packages purchased through Amanda Davis School of Motoring may be purchased in blocks of 10-hour lessons.

2.2  Once purchased, the lesson package price is guaranteed and not subject to price change.

2.3  Lesson packages are valid for a period of six months from the purchase date and must be utilised by the expiry date.

2.4  You will forfeit any funds not utilised by the expiry date and will not be permitted to use these funds to book further driving lessons.

2.5  Amanda Davis School of Motoring operates a no quibble refund policy.

2.6  You may apply for a refund of any remaining balance within your purchased lesson package prior to its expiry date. You will not be entitled to a refund after the expiry date.

3. Attending Lessons

3.1  Where applicable, prior to attending your initial lesson, you must generate a check code and email/text me the code, together with the last eight characters of your driving licence number. This information will only be used to validate your driving licence. Failure to provide the requested information may result in you being charged the full amount for the initial lesson.

3.2  You must present your valid UK or International driving licence to your driving instructor prior to the start of your initial lesson. You must also pass an eyesight check. Should you fail to provide your driving licence and/or fail the eyesight check, I will refuse tuition and/or cancel any lessons you have booked with me. You may be charged the full value for the initial lesson.

3.3  You must notify me of any matters existing at any time that may affect your ability or entitlement to have driving tuition, for example, but not limited to, any lack or loss of a valid driving licence. Failure to do so may result in the cancellation of any lessons booked and you may be charged the full value of those lessons.

3.4  If I deem you unfit to attend your lesson due to alcohol, drugs or illness, the lesson may be cancelled, but lesson fees may still apply.

3.5  You must give me at least 48 hours’ notice if you wish to reschedule or cancel a booking. Failure to do so may result in you being charged the full amount for that booking.

3.6  I will not be held responsible for any out-of-pocket expenses incurred due to cancellation of a lesson through driving instructor illness or vehicle breakdown.

3.7  I will reschedule your lesson at no extra cost to a date and time convenient to us both.


4. Booking your Practical Driving Test

4.1  I will work with you to meet your requirements and timescales for obtaining your full licence. Once you have passed your theory test you may book your practical driving test.

4.2  I encourage all pupils to book their practical driving test once they have passed their theory test. Please discuss a suitable potential date with me prior to booking your test date.

4.3  I will advise you when you have met the requirements to take your practical driving test.

4.4  If I advise that you will not be test standard by your practical test date, you may increase the number of lessons or move your test back.

4.5  If you have not met the requirements for the practical driving test, but wish to continue with your original test date, I reserve the right to refuse to hire the tuition vehicle for the purposes of taking the test.


5. Test Day Package

5.1  The test day package consists of three hours worth of driving instructor and tuition vehicle time.

5.2  Payment for this package must be made 48 hours prior to the test date. Please see 'Paying for Lessons' above for the acceptable payment methods.

5.3  The test day package includes a 1-hour revision session prior to the test, hire of the tuition vehicle for the practical test and transportation to and from the test centre.

5.4  You must give me at least 48 hours’ notice if you wish to rearrange or cancel this package. Failure to do so may result in you being charged the full amount for the package.


6. Test Day - Extended Package

6.1  The test day - extended test package is for those learners who have been disqualified and need to take an extended test as ordered by the courts. This package consists of four hours’ worth of driving instructor and tuition vehicle time.

6.2  Payment for this package must be made 48 hours prior to the test date. Please see 'Paying for Lessons' above for the acceptable payment methods.

6.3  The test day - extended test package includes a 1-hour revision session prior to the test, hire of the tuition vehicle for the practical test and transportation to and from the test centre.

6.4  You must give me at least 48 hours’ notice if you wish to rearrange or cancel this package. Failure to do so may result in you being charged the full amount for the package.


7. Attending your Practical Driving Test

7.5  In the event of vehicle breakdown or driving instructor illness, I will endeavour to find a replacement vehicle/instructor. Where this is not possible, I will pay for another driving test.  However, I will not be held responsible for any additional out-of-pocket expenses incurred due to cancellation of the practical driving test.

7.6  You may be charged the full value of the booking should the DVSA cancel your practical driving test with less than 48 hours’ notice. You may apply to the DVSA for a refund of out-of-pocket expenses. 8. Use of Personal Information

8.1  Information that you provide me may be used to:

  • Confirm your identity
  • Contact you in any way (including mail, email, phone, visit, text or multimedia messages) about products and services I offer, or which I feel may be of interest to you.
  • I may monitor and record communications with you (including phone conversations and emails) for quality assurance, legal, compliance and training purposes.

8.2  I will not share your details with any other person, company or organisation outside of Amanda Davis School of Motoringexcept for accounting or legal purposes.


9. Managing Customer Complaints

9.1  It is my intention to provide you with a service that delights you and fully meets your needs. In the unlikely event that I do not meet your expectations, in the first instance, please email me at adschoolofmotoring@yahoo.com within five working days outlining your complaint. I will endeavour to deal with your complaint within ten working days of receipt.

9.2  Should you not be completely satisfied with the outcome, you can raise a complaint with the DVSA. Please visit the DVSA website https://www.gov.uk/complain-about-a-driving-instructor for further details.
